City Alerts - Lee's view of the Staines game

LEE'S VIEW on  Staines Town  1   Truro City   1

"This was definitely a point gained.  I really don't know why Staines are so low in the League.  They have a lot of good players and they are a side with a lot pace and power.  I don't think the match was very pretty to on the eye, but the boys put in a really good, battling performance, all over the pitch.  Anything less wouldn't have been enough against a side who were on a high after an amazing 4-0 win away to Dover the previous week.  We battled very hard and I think a draw was a fair result.  That was the aim - to come away with something - and we achieved that.

"Jake Ash had a slight knock.  His back was stiff at the end, but by the sound of it he should be okay for this Saturday's match at home to Havant & Waterlooville.  That match will be doubly difficult now that Havant have parted company with their manager (Shaun Gale). That's been quite a shock up there, apparently.  I spoke to him only last week.  He's done a good job there and he didn't see that one coming.  From our point of view, that means players who maybe haven't had much of an opportunity for a while will be freshly fired up to show what they can do.

So that's definitely a tough fixture for us and very much another one that we really must win.  There's 15 points left to play for and the boys are playing well and in good spirits, so I am very confident that we can do enough in the remaining games to achieve our aim of staying in this league for another season."

UPCOMING FIXTURES, all League: Saturday, April 7, Havant & Waterlooville, home, 3 pm;  Monday, April 9, Dorchester Town, away, 3 pm; Saturday, April 14, Bromley, home, 3 pm;   Saturday, April 21, Woking away, 3 pm;  Saturday, April 28, Dartford, home, 3 pm.
